These videos are great! I love Part 2 and how the band members are in their glory playing with their hero. They turn into giddy little boys with smiles from ear to ear, in awe of how lucky they are.
SPAC 2013
And we're off!!
The weather was less than desirable SPAC weather. But we made the best of it regardless. Raincoats, rain boots, hats, gloves… Who cares, we're at SPAC!!
And here's some fun people we met. These guys will be there next year. Chris and wife and friend. Kate works with Chris. He's going to 4 shows this year!! So jealous!
Can't remember anyone's names but these people were cool to tailgate next to. That's the thing about SPAC. Or any Dave show (except maybe winter tour in Toronto) there are always cool people.
Bloody Mary's and Memosas at that cool restaurant in town. Same table 2 years in a row! So weird!
And that last photo of the 2 guys with the jumper cables, they were so cool. We drained the car battery playing Dave and they were great getting us hooked up. FYI, we need to fix the outdoor music situation next year!
Cocktails at the Gideon is a must pre show! And late night food after the show too. Can't wait to stumble upstairs to bed after instead of driving back to the hotel.
RV'ing with Frazer and Steve. Nothing better than that!!
Look at those seats!! Front row balcony! It was great. Let's hope we have the same luck this year.
Night two. We are looking a little rough around the edges. Well maybe only me, you girls look fabulous! Hey there's some sun!!! And it wasn't raining. Which was a refreshing change from night one.
Lawn second night. Oye! So painful! Luckily we scored getting everyone under the shell early on with no issues. This year we are so skipping lawn and getting shell both nights. Fingers crossed!!

And it's over :( Sadness. It goes so fast. But here we are again, waiting for this summer's show. It's only 4 1/2 months away!! Yikes, are we going to make it!!

And yes we will be at SPAC again May 30 - 31. And yes we will be staying at the Gideon Putnam. And yes we will be tailgating like pros. And yes we will have yet another EPIC time!
Double Encore at SPAC
I can't recap the whole weekend... YET, but I found some tidbits about the double encore that I thought were cool to share, along with some other SPAC stats for those of you that like this kind of stuff.
"While most of the band's double encores happened in Europe, there have been some in America. In fact, before last night, the most recent double encore was at the third night of the Randall's Island Caravan in 2011. Before that, though, the previous full-band show with a second encore in the US was all the way back in 1994 at the Ivory Tusk in Tuscaloosa.
It's also worth noting that while the second night in Charlottesville in 2010 almost had a second encore, the entire band didn't leave the stage, so we count it all as one encore."
